Carrot Red

图片
Carrot Red (Raphanus sativus L.) is made from carrot roots, extracted and refined, and can be used as a food additive in powder or liquid form, diluted with dextrin. It is a deep red solution with a slightly peculiar odor. It is not soluble in polar solvents such as ethanol, acetone, chloroform, and carbon tetrachloride, but soluble in water. The water solution is bright red in acidic solution, stable in color, and does not change color after prolonged boiling. No precipitation occurs in the solution. In alkaline solution, the color is unstable. Upon changes in pH: the color of the pigment changes with changes in the pH of the solution, ranging from orange-red to purple-lavender to blue in the pH 1-8 range, with red being the stable color in the pH 1-6 range, and the color becoming blue and less stable as pH exceeds 7; it does not fade under scattering light or artificial light over a long period of time; it has strong heat resistance and does not change color after prolonged boiling. ...

Gardenia Blue: A Comprehensive Analysis of Natural Blue Pigments

图片

Phycocyanin: From natural pigment to multifunctional bioactive substance

图片
Phycocyanin, a blue-green pigment protein derived from algae such as Spirulina, belongs to the phycobiliprotein family and is responsible for capturing and transmitting light energy in photosynthesis. This natural substance has attracted attention because of its distinctive blue colour and diverse biological activities, and is widely used in various fields such as food, medicine and cosmetics. Basic Properties and Chemical Composition  Algae blue protein appears as dark blue granules or powder, belongs to protein-binding pigments, and has the same properties as proteins. Its isoelectric point is 3.4, soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol and oil. This pigment is sensitive to heat, light and acid, and remains stable in weakly acidic and neutral environments (pH 4.5-8), precipitates under acidic conditions (pH 4.2), and decolourises in strong alkaline environments. In terms of chemical structure, phycocyanin consists of de-coordinated proteins covalently bound to phycobili...

NMN

图片
Nicotinamide mononucleotide, also known as β-nicotinamide mononucleotide, has the English name β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide, and is abbreviated as NMN. The following is a detailed introduction:  Basic Information Molecular Formula: C11H15N2O8P.  Molecular weight: 334.221 g/mol. CAS number: 1094-61-7.  Physiological functions Cellular energy metabolism: It is a direct precursor of coenzyme NAD+, which plays a crucial role in cellular respiration, promoting the oxidation of glucose, fats, and amino acids to provide energy for the body.  DNA Repair: NAD+ is involved in the DNA repair process. NMN can enhance the DNA repair capacity of cells by increasing NAD+ levels, reducing the accumulation of DNA damage, and helping to maintain genomic stability. Immune Regulation: NAD+ plays a crucial role in immune responses. Supplementing NMN can raise NAD+ levels in the body, thereby strengthening the immune system's function and helping the body better resist diseases. Im...

The Nutritional Value of Organic Spirulina Powder | FocusHerb

图片
The reason why Organic Spirulina Powder is highly respected is that it is rich in nutrients. Studies have shown that the nutritional value of 1 gram of spirulina (only in terms of vitamins) is equivalent to the sum of 1000 grams of various fruits and vegetables. Here are the main nutrients and benefits:   1. High-quality protein: The protein content of spirulina is extremely high, 6 times that of eggs. Its protein variety is complete, easy for the body to absorb and use, is an ideal protein source for vegetarians and athletes.   2. B vitamins: Spirulina is rich in B vitamins, especially vitamin B12, which is especially important for vegetarians because vitamin B12 is mainly found in animal foods.   3. Vitamin E (tocopherol) : Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage and slows aging.   4. Phycocyanin: This is a unique blue pigment that not only gives spirulina its unique color, but also enhances the immune function of huma...
